Biography
This Cello Ensemble is a dynamic new group that brings a fresh perspective to both old and new music. The ensemble seeks to create an intense musical experience with a unique contemporary style with a rich, evocative sound.
Their first public performance was in April 2006 when they premiered Walking and Talking, a dance piece composed by Dirk Campbell. Paddock Productions commissioned it for a day of dance called Something to dance about. It was sponsored by the Arts Council of Great Britain, and was written for four cellos and two marimbas, to accompany a dance created by choreographer Virginia Farman, performed in the open air in Lewes Skate Park.
The expressive range and power of Renaissance vocal music is ideally suited to complement life's big events. Both weddings and funerals are enhanced by the expressiveness of the music, which is suited to both small and large spaces. String Theory has a large repertoire of music and can discuss your exact requirements with you.
Their repertoire of varied, colourful and contrasting music for parties works as foreground or background music. The quartet has played for all kinds of celebrations, exhibition openings and festivals.
This unusual ensemble is an ideal choice for entertaining your guests before or after dinner. A performance of Through Coloured Glass adds a new edge to your evening. Or, you may prefer to simply to add ambience to a formal or informal reception with a mixed programme of music.
